Be happy, Iggy's got a new record out

There's a part of me that gets excited when Iggy Pop drops a new album.
I know there's been times when he's let me down, but it's been that way since I was a teenager.
When Iggy opens his mouth I listen, so once I got wind of the covers album, Après, I was there.
Don't expect to hear Iggy rocking out this time, he's indulging himself and serving up a grab bag of standards.
We've all heard enough b-sides and live rarities to know that the rock iguana can sometimes turn lounge lizard.
It's an intriguing set of songs, my pick would have to be Everybody's talking, not a great departure for the original, but it really suits Iggy's rich deep vocal.
Honestly, Iggy's never going to push Tony Bennett off the stage at Atlantic City, but Après hits the spot as a winter warmer.
